Integrative Seminar Week 1

REFLECTION, the mirror image of our persona. In the first class of Integrative Seminar we discussed about the term Reflection and it’s own meaning according to each student’s perspective.

After this, the class was introduced to different literary forms like – Haiku, 7 word story, 280 character story and a Limerick.

To get a better understanding of the literary forms we were asked to read two stories from ‘Can’t and Won’t’ by Lydia Davis. The stories i read were :

1. ‘The Dog Hair’, where the family’s beloved pet had died and no one was emotionally strong enough to throw out the stray’s hair that were still in the house.

2. ‘My Childhood Friend.’. In this story both the narrator and the childhood friend doesn’t recognize each another at first, because of the long time gulf between them. But later then, when they do figure out who the other one was, they were delighted to have met again.
