INTROSPECTION, the examination or observation of one’s own mental and emotional processes. Today, we were introduced to this word. For me, introspection is important for self-analysis, self-observation and to get to know my soul and what it wants while what it actually needs.
Today we also started to put our heads together to get the insights of this METAMORPHOSIS by Franz Kafka.
The Metamorphosis opens as Gregor Samsa, a traveling salesman, awakes to find himself transformed into a “monstrous vermin.” Initially shocked by the change, Gregor soon begins to worry about his daily chores and miseries of his life. Gregor, unfamiliar with his new body, struggles to even get out of his bed and reach the door. Meanwhile, his chief clerk was waiting out pf his door to know why did he miss the train and thus, he gave an excuse of being sock. Gregor’s concerned mother asks her daughter Grete to call for a doctor and a locksmith. Later, when Gregor finally manages to open the door, his appearance startles the chief and thus, the clerk retreats from the giant insect, Gregor. On one hand his mother was frightened at the sight of him being a huge insect while on the other his father was trying to get hold of the situation.
Today’s work was to write 10 metaphors on yourself to describe your character and persona. This activity helped me learn more about the literal device, metaphors. I did learn about metaphors in school, but here after writing some down on my own has helped me know them and understand them a lot better than i earlier did. So, here i am:
Shreya is a bubble of rage.
Shreya is a sea of carelessness.
Shreya’s mind is a battle.
Shreya is an obscure cage.
Shreya is a box of chaos.
Shreya is raining emotions.
Shreya is a transforming mood swing.
Shreya is the key to deep thoughts.
Shreya is a tightrope walk.
Shreya is a worn out shoe.
