The passage of TIME

Time Week 2- 16/01/20

We were to present 3 narratives of time. The narrative should have been not very subjective to the passage of time like aging instead unique ideas like transformation, change, growth that could be recorded by ourselves.

I though of several ideas and trust me it is not as easy as it sounds to be. I considered one of the movement of moon away from the earth by 1.48″ per year to be a different narration but this idea wasn’t very accurate because it is not something i can record and observe myself but extremely scientific. Another ideas of mine was 1. Evolution and 2. Change in music by time, then again both of these topics were quite vast to be observed by me, they are changes but changes that has happened over millions of years that i have not experienced and thus, even they were not what we needed for the project. Then finally after too much thinking i had my three narratives which i will present further.

After writing out the three narratives the next step for us was to present each narrative in the form of 7-10 thumbnails for each, without knowing towards what we were heading, the next step. Here are my three narratives with their thumbnails:

  1. Change in teeth through braces: My first narration is based on the transformation of one’s teeth over time from being quite uneven and distorted to finally being in order and arranged when one uses braces. The narration has been presented in the form of 8 thumbnails each thumbnails showing the change over a few months. This narration was quite based on one’s experience which can be recorded easily.IMG-1406
  2. Change in the colour of autumn leaves while they grow: This narration is based on the changes in the colours of autumn leaves over time by the passage of seasons. During Spring and Summers the leaves are quite fresh and green as they contain chlorophyll but as soon as fall approaches, the chlorophyll breaks down and the colour of the leaves changes into yellow and orange then after more changes and by time when the wind blows away the leaves, detach them from the tree and they die, their colour changes into reddish brown and dark brown. This transformation is quite visible to the human eye and thus is accurate.IMG-1404IMG-1403
  3. Baking a cake: Last narration is quite simple based on the activity of baking a cake. this one shows the transformation of powder to a fully blown up cake. The process is the same of baking a cake, converting powder into batter and then baking the batter in an oven for 30 minutes. The narration presents the transformation of powder to batter to flat baking batter to half baked and a little fluffed up cake to a fully baked blown up cake that is ready to eat.IMG-1407IMG-1405
