Mapping Sustainability

Sustainable Systems Week 3- 28/01/20

This week was again quite exploitative. We had to make and get these mind maps on a topic that each of our’s group was assigned. My group was assigned the topic- Responsible Consumption and Production. The mind maps were to be made individually on how our families, neighbors and ourselves contribute the most and the least towards the topic we were assigned.

The UN has explained: Sustainable consumption and production is about promoting resource and energy efficiency , sustainable infrastructure, and providing access to basic services, green and decent jobs and a better quality of life for all. It’s implementation helps to achieve overall development plans, reduce future economic, environmental and social costs, strengthen economic competitiveness and reduce poverty.

For family I have taken my parents and my brother, for neighbors i have taken two neighbors who are even my girl-friends and then there is me. For this assignment we didn’t only get to know ourselves but also about others and their actions. While talking to my parents and asking them for pictures, this project even helped us to make them aware of how they are affecting the environment and how they can transform their habits and move towards sustainability.

Here is my mind map. This comprises of the most and the least contribution done by my family and neighbors through their activities towards the topic- Responsible Consumption and Production.
